The ‘Sri Lanka Southern Festival 2024’ is being proudly launched by Sri Lanka as a living demonstration of the nation’s combined efforts to promote high-end, reasonably priced tourism and enhance Sri Lanka’s cultural variety.

The most recent Galle Literary Festival took place in 2019. In 2024, it reappears with a refreshed outlook. Galle will once again host an international lineup of well-renowned writers and speakers from January 25 to 28. The festival’s eleventh edition, which is open to thinkers and readers worldwide, will honor literary brilliance on the Indian Ocean coast.

The festival will take place from January through March, which are the busiest months on the Southern Coast, and will include events like the Koggala Cultural Show, the Southern Book Fair in Galle (19–28 January), the Galle Literary Festival (25–28 January), the Gourmet Galle Food Festival (12th January – 31st March), the Classical Music Event in Tangalle (19th – 21st January), and the Matara Festival for the Arts (2nd – 4th February).

The Art Trail is back with a scrollable exhibition for modern art, by giving authors, poets, and artists a unique platform through the Southern Book Fair, the 2024 festival will build on the success of the previous year’s event. The Southern Book Fair, which will be held in Galle Fort, the heart of South, will provide an opportunity for aspiring and seasoned artists from all realms to form new alliances to celebrate Sri Lanka’s rich literary history and introduce modern works from a variety of global voices.

The Gourmet Galle is set to take place throughout Sri Lanka’s southern coast over twelve weeks. Gourmet Galle, a partner of the wildly acclaimed Galle Literary Festival, will be enhanced by several culinary events including local food and renowned chefs. The Extraordinary Culinary Festival will host dinners, afternoon teas, and master classes with thirteen amazing celebrities and well-known chefs around Sri Lanka’s southern coast.

The celebration of Art and Music Weekend at the Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle will feature famous musicians from the Gustav Mahler Orchestra and Chrisni Mendis, along with international artists like Jorge Echeagaray, Barbara Segal, and Carlos Conde-González.

Galle Concerto 2024, represents a turning point in the celebration of the creative arts. The festival will be etched as a milestone in the world of music, art, culture, and cuisine, across South Asia and beyond, reaching out to a worldwide audience and pushing a global integration of up-and-coming and seasoned artists’ work in one stage.
