London, UK (CWBN)_ Sir Ian McKellen, who took up the role of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, received his first shot of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine, on Friday, Reuters reported.

The 81 year old said, “It’s a very special day. I feel euphoric.”

“I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I feel very lucky to have had the vaccination,” he added.

McKellen rose to global renown around the year 2000 following his performance in the movies based on novels written by J. R. R. Tolkien, and directed by Peter Jackson.

Place in the high priority category owing to his age, Gandalf was among the 140,000 people who have been administered the vaccine after the vaccination process began in early December.

However, it remains uncertain whether Queen Elizabeth (94) and Prince Philip (99) have been administered the vaccine.
