UK warns ‘substantial shift’ needed

London, UK (CWBN)_ The UK government has informed the European Union that if it does not make a “substantial shift” over the few days of negotiation left, the two parties will moving into 2021 under the World Trade Organisation’s regulations.

Despite rhetoric over a “no-deal Brexit”, the EU Parliament maybe expected to nod to provisional agreements with the UK, allowing the actual deal to be ratified next year. Although optimism is low with the UK accusing the EU of being “unreasonable”, there still remains a chance that a deal maybe struck.

Moreover, the EU Parliament has demanded that the text of any deal ought to be presented by tonight, in order for the deal to be approved by the EU before the December 31st deadline.

Trade negotiations have been at a standstill over months, as both parties remain insistent for compromise with regard to fishing access in British waters, maintained of a fair and competitive market, and regulation of the trade deal.

Meanwhile, it was announced that PM Boris Johnson has accepted India’s invitation to join Republic Day celebrations as its chief guest. It is expected that during the visit, a trade deal worth at least GBP 100 will be signed off on.
