ENGLAND (Commonwealth Union) – Airports are finally coming in and getting their groove back. This is because travel restrictions are lessening day by day. Which means there are more tourists coming in from all parts of the world. This is good news as airports and airlines were suffering greatly with the travel industry going down the drains thanks to a pandemic that brought the world to its knees in 2020.

Gatwick Airport in London recently stated that they are doing really well in the year 2022 as they have already started flying to almost 90% of te destinations they were flying to in the pre-pandemic days in 2019. This revelation came mid-October as a survey was conducted by the government to find out if further help was needed by the tourism industry, but thankfully, the airport seems to be doing fine.

Gatwick has always had a lot of destinations under its belt, and is now preparing to visit 172 of the 197 destination they travel to from the airport. This news was received with joy by the employees of the airport as this meant that there will be more foot traffic in the area and that meant that the airport in itself would be busy and bustling.

Gatwick airport will be welcoming new airlines such as Bamboo airways, which will come with the new route through Hanoi, Vietnam, along with new routes with Jet Blue. These new routes will bring in new passengers walking in and out of Gatwick. Jet blue has also claimed they will up their flights to 50 flights weekly to the United States.

The chief commercial officer of the London Gatwick Airport Jonathan Pollard was very happy about this and stated that operations should come back to almost pre-COVID normalcy by mid-2023.
