England (Commonwealth Union)_ As a £17 million investment is completed, Groupe Atlantic’s chief executive Shaun Edwards has described how it is one of the most difficult yet exhilarating moments in the company’s lengthy history in Hull. A substantial building at Hessle’s Bridgehead Business Park has been taken up by Ideal Heating, the firm that makes air-source heat pumps, as it adopts green technology and expands dramatically.

In addition to inviting Hull North MP Dame Diana Johnson to the city site, Edwards highlighted the significance of the capital investment and unveiled new photos that demonstrate the significant progress. She was given a tour of the developing facility and had the opportunity to learn more about the significant role the 116-year-old company is to play in future.

“We were delighted to welcome Diana to our main office and explain how we’re developing our business towards attaining Net Zero aims,” said Mr. Edwards, who oversees the French company’s activities in the UK, Ireland, and North America. “We are seeing the most significant change to the industry since the advent of high efficiency gas boilers, which is both hard and exciting for us.”

According to Groupe Atlantic’s CEO, the firm’s Hull site will not only be used to develop, produce, store and distribute sustainable products, but also  to educate the company’s clientele at a brand-new training center that will be set up in Hessle. “This will result in more jobs as we increase our personnel and level of competence,” Edwards added. With about 800 employees, the enterprise ranks among the largest employers in the city. 13,000 square feet of new production and storage space have been added to the Hull location. Sales rose by 15% last year, bringing total revenue to a record £351.9 million.

“Ideal has been in my constituency for more than a century,” Dame Diana said. “As a local MP, I believe it is crucial that we have access to these promising future positions. In Hull, green employment are quite crucial.”
