HSC equity fears as year 12 allowed into some schools but not others…

Teachers have stated that students are facing serious inequalities in HSC major works and practical exams as some are allowed to work on projects and rehearse ensemble performances on school grounds while others cannot even take major works home.

Public schools within Sydney’s COVID-19 hotspot local government areas are discussing the prospect of whole-region misadventure applications for their year 12 students, and are asking the NSW Education Standards Authority to make the process simpler. Schools have been told only to allow HSC students onto campus when absolutely necessary, but there are different interpretations of ‘necessary’; some do not want students on campus at all, and others are allowing them in to focus on major works or rehearse performances.
