Bangladesh (Commonwealth Union)_ At the Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, Fair Technology recently built the Hyundai Manufacturing Plant. The first Hyundai passenger vehicles “Made in Bangladesh” will go on sale early in 2019.

We have heard reports over the past couple of years about local businesses opening vehicle manufacturing facilities all throughout Bangladesh, and we are now one step closer to seeing locally built automobiles cruising the streets more frequently than we are used to. By the end of 2022, locally built Hyundai automobiles will be introduced by Fair Technology Limited, the country’s only distributor of Hyundai vehicles. In order to service the expanding Bangladesh market, Fair Technology has partnered with the Korean car giant to produce inexpensive sport utility vehicles.

In Bangladesh, where over 5000 new automobiles are sold annually throughout the nation, the demand for new cars is increasing by 5% annually. As part of a contract they signed with the Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park Authority, Fair Group subsidiary Fair Technology Limited said last year that they were establishing a manufacturing facility for Hyundai Motor Company. On six acres of land in Kaliakair in Gazipur, Fair Technology is investing in the construction of a vehicle production facility with help from Hyundai Motor Company on a technical level.

Fair Technology will build Hyundai sedans and SUVs at its Hyundai Manufacturing Plant in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, it was announced at the Creta’s unveiling ceremony. Customers will also receive genuine replacement parts and after-sales services along with these passenger vehicles.

According to Mutasim Dayan, CEO of Fair Technology Limited, “By 2023, Fair Technology will begin producing electric cars in order to stay up with the current period of new technology.” Mitsubishi vehicles built by Pragati and Proton cars made by PHP are two examples of domestically made automobiles that have become quite successful in the market.
