The India-Africa Trade Council hosted a conference during the weekend which was attended by members of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh business communities. Dr Asif Iqbal, President of the Indian Economic Trade Organization, and HE Gabriel Sinimbo, High Commissioner of Namibia to India, vowed to develop bilateral trade cooperation between India and Namibia.
Dr Tasneem spoke about the diamond trade and its skillsets. He said, “The Diamond Park project that can enable students to learn diamond trade and other related self-reliant skill sets. Very soon our students will go to Namibia to learn the intrinsic details of the Diamond sector”.

HE Gabriel Sinimbo, Namibia’s High Commissioner to India, stated that global economic links were important and that he was pleased to witness the expansion of commercial relations between India and Namibia. He also urged Telangana entrepreneurs to invest in Namibia. Dr Tasneem Shariff, Trade Commissioner of Telangana Industrialists and Businessmen, spoke on increasing India’s engagement with the Southern African region and the port accessibility to Walvis Bay for the other nations surrounding the region.
Dr Tasneem Shariff, who will be leading the trade partnerships between India and Namibia in the state, expressed optimism over the future trade relationship between the nations. He said, “As the trade office bridge between India and Namibia, I will explore all strategic opportunities between the two countries. I am thankful to the Indian High Commissioner in Namibia Shri, Prashant Agrawal IFS, for giving the virtual address to all our business houses in Telangana. This creates a sense of confidence and credibility for our trade mechanisms. I will work on requesting the cheetahs and other wild cats from Namibia to be brought to the Hyderabad Zoo and work on the Diamond Park project that can enable students to learn Diamond trade and other related self-reliant skill sets. Very soon our students will go to Namibia to learn the intrinsic details of the diamond sector”.
