India celebrates Platinum Jubilee Republic Day!

India (Commonwealth Union)_ Its a big day for India as the nation celebrates its Platinum Jubilee Republic Day. Accordingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to the nation on the momentous occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Additionally, he conveyed his wishes to individuals being honored with Padma Awards this year, emphasizing the nation’s appreciation for their noteworthy contributions. Taking to the social media platform X, PM Modi shared his wishes, stating, “Best wishes on the special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind!”.

In a separate post, the Prime Minister congratulated 132 individuals receiving the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan awards as part of the Republic Day celebrations. He expressed his admiration, affirming, “Congratulations to all those who have been conferred the Padma Awards. India cherishes their contribution across diverse sectors. May they continue to inspire people with their exceptional work.” Additionally, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar also conveyed Republic Day greetings on platform X, urging fellow countrymen to uphold the values of the Indian Constitution and work towards building a stronger Bharat during the Amrit Kaal of the Republic.

Other prominent leaders, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress leader Sachin Pilot, extended their wishes on X commemorating the 75th Republic Day. Marking the 75th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in the grand celebrations of its journey of Amrit Kaal, initiated after the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations in honor of the country’s 75 years of independence.

The 90-minute parade, themed around Viksit Bharat’s rich cultural diversity, ‘Aatmanirbhar’ military prowess, and the growing Nari Shakti, featured French President Emmanuel Macron as the Chief Guest. The event also showcased the nation’s defense forces through captivating displays of mechanized columns, state-of-the-art equipment, marches of contingents, and a presentation highlighting the cultural unity in the diversity of the nation. Under the themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,’ the parade included the participation of approximately 13,000 special guests, encouraging Jan Bhagidari (public participation) in this national festival.

The Republic Day parade commenced at 10:30 am and lasted approximately 90 minutes. The ceremony kicked off with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial to lead the nation in paying respects to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath. Additionally, other leaders also participated in flag hoisting ceremonies in their respective states, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Notably, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid homage to war heroes at the Veerula Sainik Memorial in Secunderabad on this special occasion.
