USA (Commonwealth Union)_ Chennai-born Indian American Caitlin Sandra Neil has been crowned Miss India USA 2024 at the prestigious annual pageant held by the India Festival Committee (IFC) in New Jersey. The event, which celebrates the achievements and cultural heritage of the Indian-American community, saw fierce competition from 47 contestants representing 25 states across three categories: Miss India USA, Mrs. India USA, and Miss Teen India USA. This year’s pageant, hosted by the IFC, highlighted the diversity and accomplishments of the contestants, showcasing the cultural pride and community values of the Indian-American community.

Caitlin, a 19-year-old student at the University of California, Davis, expressed her gratitude and excitement in a media release following her victory. She emphasized her desire to make a positive impact on her community, with a particular focus on women’s empowerment and literacy. Caitlin stated, “I want to leave a positive lasting impact on my community and focus on women’s empowerment and literacy,” underscoring her commitment to societal change. Born in Chennai, India, Caitlin moved to the United States at the age of 5. Over the past 14 years, she has embraced her new life in the US while nurturing her aspirations in web design, modeling, and acting. Additionally, her victory in the Miss India USA pageant not only marks a significant milestone in her life but also solidifies her determination to contribute meaningfully to her community while pursuing a successful career in her chosen fields.

The competition also saw Nirali Desai from Illinois and Manini Patel from New Jersey being crowned the first and second runners-up, respectively, in the Miss India USA category. In the Mrs. India USA competition, Sanskriti Sharma of Illinois emerged victorious, with Sapna Mishra of Virginia and Chinamayee Ayachit of Connecticut taking the first and second runner-up positions. Additionally, the Miss Teen India USA title was claimed by Arshita Kathpalia from Washington, with Dhriti Patel of Rhode Island and Sonali Sharma as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
