USA (Commonwealth Union)_ American investor Bill Ackman has made a strong and early call as he uploaded a video of Vivek Ramaswamy delivering a lecture against racism. According to the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, the entrepreneur of Indian descent will run for president and win. Ackman tweeted, “I think the country is ready for his message. He is young, smart, talented, and will attract the center to the right to win. He speaks hard truths that many believe but fear to say”. Ackman’s remark comes as the Indian-American Republican prepares to declare his candidacy for president in 2024.

The 37-year-old multimillionaire has been performing trial runs and fact-finding visits in the state of Iowa, where he has been delivering speeches at several events. Ramaswamy was born in Cincinnati. His parents migrated to the USA from the Indian state of Kerala. His mother was a geriatric psychiatrist, while his father worked at General Electric as an engineer. He attended Yale and Harvard universities. His current net fortune exceeds $500 million, which would allow him to begin his campaign in the important early states.

According to reports, Ramaswamy is an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) skeptic who attacks “wokeism” and socially responsible investing. His political reputation began months after Rishi Sunak, the current British prime minister of Indian descent, assumed office. Initially, Ramaswamy was popular as a successful biotech entrepreneur and drug developer who generated five FDA-approved drugs. Additionally, in 2014, he established Roivant Sciences, a pharmaceutical research firm.

Sharing the video of his speech on racism, Ramaswamy captioned it as, “The threat of being labeled a “racist” has created a new culture of fear in our country – fear of losing your job, fear of your kids getting a bad grade, fear of becoming a pariah. Fear is infectious. But courage can be contagious too.” Additionally, Nikki Haley, the first Republican opponent of former US President Donald Trump, also announced her candidacy for office on February 14. Trump also launched his reelection campaign in November.
