Indian-American Rahul Roy-Chowdhury named CEO of Grammarly!

USA (Commonwealth Union)_ Indian-Americans have once again achieved a notable milestone as Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, an Indian-origin executive, has been appointed as the new CEO of Grammarly, a leading provider of writing tools. From May 1, Rahul, who is currently the global head of product at the San Francisco-based company, who oversees a platform that provides effective communication solutions for over 50,000 teams and 30 million people worldwide, will assume his new role.

The announcement of Rahul’s promotion was made by the current CEO of Grammarly, Brad Hoover. He took to the Grammarly website and noted that the company was at an inflection point and required a new era of leadership to propel its products and businesses to greater heights. According to Hoover, “Seizing this moment and reaching the next orders of magnitude requires us to move faster and at a much larger scale.”

Accordingly, in his twelve years of leadership, Hoover has steered the company to its current position as a cloud-based typing assistant that assists users with writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and plagiarism reviews. He stated, “A new era of leadership can aid in driving this shift. Accordingly, after twelve years of leadership at Grammarly, I am now handing the reins over to our current Global Head of Product, Rahul Roy-Chowdhury”. Brad Hoover expressed confidence in Rahul Roy. According to him, Rahul Roy-Chowdhury’s appointment as CEO was a natural fit, considering his product and technology background, which will be instrumental in helping Grammarly navigate its path forward.
