Dr Lall is now serving as the Chief Executive Officer of General Atomics Global Corporation, a US-based diversified technology business. He is a popular scientist and his former designations are at Boeing as chief of space and defense operations, at Lockheed Martin as vice president, and at Reliance New Ventures as CEO and President. Dr Lall was born in Jakarta and attended Carleton University and earned a mechanical engineering degree. He then graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Thereafter, he obtained his MBA degree from City University of Seattle. Finally, he received his PhD doctorate from Wichita State University.

The award was presented to him in the presence of Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
