Indian-American singer wins the Grammy for Best Children’s Music Album

 On posting the pictures, she captioned it as, “I have no words to describe today’s magic. What an honor to perform for the opening number of the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony, and then take home a statue on behalf of all the incredible people who worked on A Colorful World. We are humbled and thank the Recording Academy for this tremendous recognition. THANK YOU!”

Activate by 123 Andres, All One Tribe by 1 Tribe Collective, Black to the Future by Pierce Freelon, Crayon Kids by Lucky Diaz, and the Family Jam Band were the other nominees for the Best Children’s Album. Falguni Shah has also worked alongside the Indian music master AR Rahman, and she is the first and only woman of Indian heritage to have been nominated twice for the Grammy Award for Best Children’s Music Album. Falguni Shah previously earned a Grammy nomination in this category for her album Falu’s Bazaar in 2018.

Falu is a well-trained professional in the Jaipur musical heritage as well as the Banaras Thumri style. Additionally, she has worked closely with artists from across the world, including Wyclef Jean, Philip Glass, Ricky Martin, Blues Traveler, and Yo-Yo Ma. At the 2022 Grammys, Bruno Mars’ Silk Sonic bagged two major honors for Leave The Door Open: Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
