Indian American woman honoured with Con Edison’s highest honor

According to the media, Kavitha attributed the success to her team and colleagues. She said, “I dedicate this award to my team… I have a very supportive team and without them I could not have achieved this award. I share this great honor with my team and co-workers”. According to the press statement, the organization stated that Kavitha is constantly thinking about methods to make the workplace safer. It said, “So he didn’t hesitate when asked to improve the mobile gas inspection apps. Their work helped streamline inspections and prevent gas leaks”.

Jeannine Haggerty, Con Edison’s vice president of Information Technology Business Systems Delivery, spoke about Kavitha’s skills. She said, “Kavitha is always on a mission to strive to learn, help its customers, improve the business process, and perform activities in a way that highlights quality of service”. She appreciated Kavitha for her expertise in ensuring safety measures. She said, “Kavitha’s leadership on gas leak issues and her tireless efforts with the gas team to implement improvements has increased the safety of our employees, our customers, and the general public.”

According to the firm, its safety slogan is “Everyone must return home safely every day.” Each meeting opens with a safety message. Con Edison stated that during the pandemic, she has continuously emphasized the significance of social isolation, mask wearing and hand sanitizing. Apart from her work, Subbiah volunteers as a mentor for middle and high school kids. She assists youngsters with STEM education and provides direction and assistance to them in their higher studies as well as college applications. Subbiah has 23 years of experience at Con Edison. She moved to the United States from her native Tamil Nadu. She graduated from Madurai Kamaraj University in South India with a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.
