 “International Nurses Day is a day to express gratitude to the hardworking nursing staff, who is at the forefront of fighting COVID-19. Their sense of duty, compassion and commitment towards a healthy India is exemplary”.

Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor, both members of the Congress, saluted the nurses for their selfless role in saving millions of lives in the midst of a global pandemic. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “My wishes to those who are nursing away pain and suffering from this world. We salute your contribution and admire your altruistic spirit. Thank you, Nurses”.

Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “Saluting the heroic nurses who are the frontline warriors in the fight against #Covid, on their special day. They deserve support, understanding, recognition, resources, insurance — and time off to rest!”

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan thanked the nurses all over the world and tweeted, “Kerala’s greatest export are our nurses. They’re making their mark felt not just across our country, but around the globe as well. During this pandemic they’ve been toiling to save our lives. On this #InternationalNursesDay we salute each and everyone of you!”.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan tweeted, “#ThankYouNurses for going the extra mile in your efforts to nurse the world to health during #covid19. Your commitment to provide efficient & effective care founded on professionalism, skills & deep compassion is awe inspiring”.

Dr. Kafeel Khan tweeted, “Thank You without you we are nothing”.

According to actor Abhishek Bacchan, nurses put humanity first, working extended time and risking their lives to save their patients. He tweeted, “This #InternationalNursesDay I salute their relentless efforts & their undying spirit to fight Covid-19. We’ll always be indebted to you all”.

Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who recently recovered from COVID 19 expressed his thanks to the nurse community. He tweeted, “Silently serving humanity forever. Sleepless nights, care and concern flow non stop for us when we aren’t well. The pandemic has made us recognise their value more than ever before. Grateful for everything you do for us. Happy #InternationalNursesDay”.
