Namibian bank bolstering its long track record of environmental initiatives

WINDHOEK (CU)_Namibia is recognized as one of the most vulnerable countries to the impacts of climate change. Its increased variability of rainfall, together with rising temperatures and evaporation are exacerbating the existing challenges it is facing as one of the driest country south of the Sahara. Meanwhile, there are increased calls across the world for banks and other financial institutions to play an active role in the global efforts to minimise climate change, particularly through various intergovernmental organisations which call on the financial sector to increase its contributions towards achieving net zero emissions by mid-century.
