Africa (Commonwealth) _With the purchase of National Packaging Systems (NPS), a specialized South African producer of packaging equipment, Ishida Europe has further enhanced its offering to clients on the African continent.

NPS was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Pinetown, close to Durban. It has a solid reputation for designing and producing dependable vertical form, fill, and seal machines for stick packs, pillow packs, sachets, and volumetric fillers in addition to feed systems.

Additionally, the business creates and installs unique systems made to meet the needs of individual clients. Its clientele is diverse and includes people who purchase food items including sugar, rice, salt, peanuts, cereals, snacks, candies, powders, and liquids as well as non-food specialty items like firelighters and auto parts.

By combining their vast technical know-how, application expertise, and industry knowledge, Ishida and NPS will be able to offer customers unmatched levels of support in the development of comprehensive weighing, packing, and quality control systems for a wide range of end-markets, including grains, pulses, and all granular product types.

With the availability of excellent and reasonably priced entry-level weighing and packing systems, the new Ishida/NPS partnership will not only assist companies in increasing automation levels but also provide start-up operations with the chance to initiate process automation. All clients will also receive the best assistance possible, including quick response localized service and quick provision of spare parts. “We are thrilled to be a part of Ishida,” NPS managing director Russell Gwynn said.

The combined strengths of the two companies will allow us to provide our clients with an even more complete package of equipment and post-purchase assistance, allowing them to further develop and grow their businesses and take advantage of opportunities in both domestic and international markets.

NPS, a member of the Ishida group, will go on conducting operations as an independent entity. “We are thrilled to have NPS join the Ishida family,” stated Dave Tiso, managing director of Ishida Europe.

What struck us about NPS, in addition to its wide variety of complimentary talents, knowledge, and tools, was its dedication to the same principles and culture in terms of similar principles and outlook when it comes to providing services that benefit our clients, our company, and society. We are eager to collaborate as both businesses continue to expand.
