General Aviv Kochkavi of the Israel army made a statement on Tuesday about the plans he had drawn up to counter the nuclear capabilities of Iran. This was done so that in the event that there was a political decision made to target the Islamic republic they would be ready to defend themselves.

The general went on to say that he had advised and instructed his military staff “to prepare several operational plans in addition to existing ones… throughout the coming year, The power to initiate them lies with the political echelon, However, the offensive options need to be prepared, ready and on the table.” He added as he referred to the Israel government.

The general further stated that the 2015 agreement was a bad thing by quoting that “Any agreement that resembles the 2015 agreement is a bad thing, both strategically and operationally,” this was said at a meeting organized by the Institute of National security studies. General Aviv Kochkavi further stated that Israel had hit 500 targets in the Middle East only in the last year and that “Pressure on Iran must continue — Iran must not have the capacity to develop a nuclear bomb,”
