CHENNAI, India (CWBN)_ Answering to media, the universal actor Kamal Haasan said that he will look for the help from his fellow actor and close friend Rajinikanth for Makkal Needhi Maiam in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections in 2021. The actor turned politician said that he has been requesting help from everyone. “I have been asking the support of everyone so I will definitely seek my good friend Rajinikanth’s support and visit him at his residence”, the actor said.

Kamal Haasan expressed his concern for Rajinikanth’s wellbeing. “Rajinikanth’s health is more important than politics”, he said. The news from close sources said that Rajinikanth had postponed his political plans considering his health issues and the current pandemic situation.

During his speech at the Makkal Needhi Maiam meeting, Kamal Haasan introduced former IAS officer Santosh Babu to the members and announced that he will be part of his MNM party. The actor said, “I will be going to every house during my campaign. Will I not go to my friend’s house? I am more concerned about his health than politics, when it comes to Rajinikanth. And I am more interested in my politics than my job. That is why I have kept my job to the side and I have been doing this. My first priority is the health of my friend Rajini. When we were in the same industry, we competed but there was no jealousy. This will or may continue.”

This statement from Kamal arrived at the time when confusion prevailed over Rajini’s political entry in the 2021 Tamil Nadu elections. Actor Rajinikanth had a meeting on Monday with the district secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram and had a conversation on how to proceed further.

Sources reveal that during the gathering, Rajinikanth collected information about the support he had in various districts of Tamil Nadu and whether they could sustain if he decided to enter politics. He further gathered information about the members’ opinion on joining with other parties of the state.

Rajinikanth did not give his unit any definitive information on his ideas about forming a party. A month ago, he confessed to having health issues after a phony note on his political entry made viral rounds. Also, in March, he stated that he had no intentions to race for the Chief Minister’s post in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections. He said that he would pick a well-qualified individual to manage his party. However, the fans and RMM party members expressed dislike towards this idea. Rajinikanth had earlier said that he would rethink about entering politics if there is a massive support from the public.

Additionally, Rajinikanth will resume the shoot of his family entertainer drama Annathe in the near future. His upcoming project Annathe was on hold due to COVID-19. Rajinikanth’s doctors have advised him to follow strict social distancing and avoid crowded zones like shooting spots and political meetings.
