KFC to go without chicken in Australia!

-

When you think “Kentucky Fried Chicken”, more popular by the acronym KFC, do your taste buds crave that familiar crunch and crispiness of a bucket full of fried chicken, a juicy Zinger burger, or piping hot Colonel’s fries? What if you could also flaunt your patronage towards your favorite choice of comfort food through your sense of fashion?

The global fast-food chain KFC, famously known for its revolutionary fried chicken, added another venture under its brand by introducing a brand new line of KFC fashion accessories and merchandise. The fashion range, including KFC-themed T-shirts, hoodies, jumpers, sweatpants, as well as other accessories such as socks, slides, and hats, all come with the signature KFC style of red and white stripes.

KFC, a brand of great magnitude, with more than 15,000 restaurants internationally, initially introduced its fashion line in the UK in 2022. After a successful launch, the global food chain decided to make its Australian debut just in time for Sydney Fashion Week 2023.

Kicking off the fashion season Down Under, KFC showcased the brand-new fashion range with a runway show aptly named “Kentucky Couture”, featuring the entire merchandise line.

This novel project was conceptualized with the motive of raising funds for a charity program that supports the mental well-being of Australian youth. The project was undertaken by the KFC Youth Foundation and its charity partners, The Black Dog Institute, ReachOut Australia, and Whitelion.

KFC Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, Sally Spriggs, stated, “We’re so excited to put KFC on the runway ahead of Sydney Fashion Week and even more thrilled to answer the call from our fans to bring this iconic range of merch to Australia with profits from sales going to support Aussie youth mental well-being through the KFC Youth Foundation.”

This fashion line of KFC-themed apparel and accessories will also further diversify and expand the brand beyond its classic “Finger Lickin Good” fast food items, and open pathways for new advancements within the international company.

Australians were warned about the commotion this line of streetwear had caused in the UK last year and were asked to get their hands on the merch line as soon as they could to avoid disappointments. With a price range starting from $20 to $75, this limited edition, KFC fashion line is currently only available on the KFC Australian merchandise store for purchase.
