Kiwi coal mining company’s efforts to help green revolution

WELLINGTON (CU)_Reliance on coal as a source of energy remains one of the biggest challenges in the global efforts to minimise greenhouse gas emissions. Consigning coal to history was one of the major focus areas of this year’s UN climate summit held in Glasgow, with over 40 countries agreeing to phase out their use of coal-fired power by the 2040s. Against this background, a Wellington-based coal miner is looking to join these efforts tackling the climate crisis by minimising the carbon footprint of the industry.
