India (Commonwealth Union) _ The largest Apple iPhone manufacturing facility in the world would soon be located in India, near Hosur, Bengaluru, according to Telecom and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. This information comes just after Reuters revealed that Foxconn, an Apple supplier, intended to increase its operations in India by a factor of at least four over the following two years. Minister Vaishnaw also disclosed that 60,000 people would work at the largest iPhone production facility. Furthermore, he disclosed that at least 6000 tribal women who live close to Ranchi and Hazaribagh had received training to assemble iPhones.

The largest facility in India is being built in Hosur, which is close to Bengaluru, to produce Apple’s iPhone, which is presently manufactured there. There are 60,000 workers employed at one plant. Of these 60,000 workers, the first 6,000 are our tribal sisters from areas close to Ranchi and Hazaribagh. The minister stated that tribal women have received training to create Apple iPhones. It should be mentioned that Apple has contracted with Tata Electronics’ Hosur factory in India to manufacture iPhone enclosures. Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron, three global leaders in electronics manufacturing, produce iPhones for Apple in India. The Reuters story claims that Foxconn’s move to increase its personnel there is one of several adjustments the business would make as a result of the interruptions in China.

Though dwarfed in size by Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant, which employs 200,000 people, the plant in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu is crucial to Apple Inc.’s efforts to move the majority of production away from China. Foxconn, formerly known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, started operating the plant in India in 2019 and has since increased output. This year, it started making the iPhone 14.
