Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India is poised for significant expansion, with plans to invest up to Rs45 billion ($542.8 million) over the next three to four years. This strategic move aims to double the company’s room capacity from the current 5,000 to an impressive 10,000 by the financial year 2030 (FY2030), as announced by the company’s managing director and CEO, Kavinder Singh.

Singh outlined the comprehensive expansion strategy, which encompasses forging partnerships with state governments, establishing new resorts, pursuing brownfield expansions, and strategic acquisitions. He underscored the crucial role of public-private partnerships in attaining the ambitious growth targets, emphasizing Mahindra Holidays’ unwavering dedication to collaborative advancement.

Singh expressed strong confidence in the investment’s scalability, projecting a remarkable increase from Rs2,000 crore in the upcoming year to an impressive Rs40-45 billion within three to four years. Highlighting ongoing endeavors, Singh disclosed the company’s partnership with the Odisha Government, successfully acquiring land for prospective developments, signaling a potential investment exceeding Rs5 billion in the region. This demonstrates both Singh’s optimism regarding growth prospects and the strategic importance of collaborative ventures in Mahindra Holidays’ expansion plans.

Furthermore, Mahindra Holidays recently announced a significant investment of $96.4 million in Tamil Nadu to construct three greenfield resorts over the next five to six years, following a substantial $120.5 million investment in Uttarakhand last year. These initiatives underscore the company’s steadfast commitment to expanding its resort portfolio and enhancing its presence in key regions.

With 102 resorts operational across India and internationally, Mahindra Holidays continues to fortify its position in the hospitality industry. Additionally, its subsidiary, Holiday Club Resorts Oy in Finland, boasts 33 timeshare properties, including nine spa resorts in Finland, Sweden, and Spain, further amplifying the company’s global footprint and enriching its offerings in the hospitality sector.
