India (Commonwealth) _Mahindra Tractors, the largest tractor manufacturer in the world by volume, has sold 40 lakh units overall, including both local and international sales.

The company’s newest tractor plant, Mahindra’s Zaheerabad plant, which serves as a worldwide center for Mahindra tractor production, unveiled the milestone unit model, a Yuvo Tech Plus.

In 1963, Mahindra debuted their first tractor in collaboration with International Harvester, a company located in the USA. The tractor sales figures for the Indian firm exceeded 10 lakh in 2004, 20 lakh in 2013, 30 lakh in 2019, and 40 lakh in 2024. In terms of volume sales, Mahindra surpassed all other farm tractor manufacturers in the globe in 2009.

Motivated by our mission to improve farming and people’s lives, we are proud to have sold our 40 lakhth Mahindra tractor in the same year that we celebrated 60 years of the Mahindra Tractor and decades of leadership. With these achievements, I would want to express my sincere thanks to our partners, our colleagues, and our customers—the farmers who motivate us every day as we go on this transformative path together, said Hemant Sikka, President, Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector.

For the Mahindra Farm Division, this is a historic event. Deliveries of 40 lakh tractors are a powerful indication of the faith that consumers have in our brand mission and our in-depth knowledge of Indian agriculture. Although the last five years have been amazing—during which we achieved our fastest million—we will keep meeting our customers’ varied needs with the broadest range of tractors, all the while providing unrivaled dependability and cutting-edge technologies that lead the world in helping farmers succeed “said Mahindra Tractors CEO Vikram Wagh.

Mahindra has released approximately 390 tractor types in the last 60 years. In India, the business has built a strong network of more than 1,200 dealer partners. Outside of India, the USA is the biggest market for Mahindra tractors worldwide, with over 60 nations on six continents carrying the brand.

Mahindra has started selling the Oja line of tractors in the United States. The business created the Oja, a worldwide lightweight tractor platform in association with Japan’s Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery. Mahindra will make its ASEAN debut with the Oja, beginning in Thailand in 2024. In 2025, it will reach Europe.

There are five manufacturing plants owned by Mahindra that make tractors: Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad, Jaipur, and Rudrapur. Through subsidiaries, the corporation is also present in North America, Brazil, Mexico, Finland, Turkey, and Japan for manufacture and assembly.

An Indian company that makes agricultural equipment is called Mahindra Tractors. It is a component of the Mahindra & Mahindra business. By volume, Mahindra rose to the top of the global tractor sales rankings in 2010. India is Mahindra’s biggest market for customers. Additionally, its market is expanding in Australia and North America. The business can produce 150,000 tractors annually and is the biggest tractor producer in India. In 1963, M&M established a joint venture with International Harvester to develop tractors bearing the Mahindra trademark for the Indian market, resulting in the production of its first tractor, the Mahindra B-275. Mahindra Tractors is among the world’s biggest tractor manufacturers, having sold around 85,000 units a year. Mahindra bought the bulk of Jiangling in order to enter China’s expanding tractor industry.

Mahindra USA announced its new sponsorship in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with R3 Motorsports, which is competing with a #23 Mahindra Tractors Chevrolet, in an effort to increase exposure of Mahindra in the US. Robert Richardson Jr was the driver of the vehicle. Mahindra became the first Indian corporation to sponsor a vehicle with this sponsorship in NASCAR. Mahindra sponsored the MacDonald Motorsports team in 2008; the team competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with the #81 vehicle. They presently sponsor Chase Briscoe of Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.

China and India are the two biggest markets for Mahindra Tractors, who also has a substantial consumer base across the African continent as well as the Indian Subcontinent, the United States, Australia, Serbia, Chile, Syria, and Iran. Through its subsidiaries Mahindra USA, Mahindra Australia, and Jiangling, Mahindra operates in China, North America, and Australia. Via its subsidiaries Mahindra Gujarat and Swaraj, it also conducts business in a few Indian states.
