However, Abdullahi said that the media’s capacity to interpret complicated scientific terms into easier, comprehensible language for policymakers and the general public will help Nigerians become more interested towards science, technology, and innovation, which eventually leads to the acceptance of the latest technologies. According to him, many individuals are ignorantly against the improved technology, and we want the media to research more on the field and educate the public.

Abdullahi spoke about the benefits of Agricultural biotechnology and the role of the media in promoting it among the public. He said, “Agricultural biotechnology has nothing to do with cancer or destroying the environment, it is safe for everyone. Agricultural biotechnology helps nations attain self-sufficiency in food production and subsequently achieve food security, which is critical for achieving sustainable development. The media could be said to be the perfect bridge between modern biotechnology and the people, particularly farmers”.
