Meet the Powerhouses from the Commonwealth Nations Competing for the Miss World 2025 Crown!

Entertainment (Commonwealth Union) The Miss World 2025 grand finale is set to take place on May 31 at the HITEX Exhibition Center in Telangana, India, with the new ambassador for social advocacy being crowned following a month-long celebration of womanhood, beauty, and commitment to social change. Having started off with 107 initial competitors from across the world, the finale is a moment for all the contestants who persevered and are devoted to humanitarian work.

The 20 finalists, who will represent four global regions, include contestants with strong ties to Commonwealth countries.

America’s & Caribbean

Zalika Samuels (Miss Guyana)

Crowned Miss World Upper Demerara-Berbice 2024, Samuels is a 21-year-old nursing student with the aspiration of becoming a pediatric doctor. Holding titles such as Miss Linden Town Week 2023 and Ms. Emancipation 2024, she is strongly inspired to achieve the Miss Universe title alongside her academic career. Having worked as a teacher’s assistant, where she was fulfilled by supporting young children to grow, Samuels advocates for youth development in underprivileged regions, focused on boosting literacy rates by providing books and literacy programmes that boost language skills and the motivation to learn.

Anna-Lise Nanton (Miss Trinidad and Tobago)

A geotechnical and civil engineer, Anna-Lise Nanton holds a first- class honors degree from the University of Bath and plays with the Queen’s Park women’s football team. Having experience in several other sports, including rugby, Nanton is a strong advocate for sports sustainability. This passion has been channeled into her Beauty with a Purpose project, where she aims to harness sport for empowerment, community building, and health and wellness while also carrying out Go Green sports initiatives.

Asia and Oceania

Anudi Gunasekara (Miss Sri Lanka)

An international relations student with aspirations of becoming a diplomat, Anudi Gunasekara is the only contestant from Asia to have been a finalist in both the Head-to-Head and Talent rounds this year and the first Sri Lankan to be placed as a Top 5 contestant in the Asia Segment. Having led numerous BWAP projects, she has reached more than 10,000 girls and women countrywide through her foundation Saheli, focusing on menstrual health with initiatives that provide necessary products and education in various institutions, including schools, prisons, and postpartum centers.

Africa

Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg (Miss South Africa)

Studying law with her sights set on supporting children in international and children’s law, Rensburg has worked with various charities that combat injustice such as gender-based violence, domestic abuse, and trafficking. Her Beauty with a Purpose project, “Never Too Young to Advocate” if focused on providing global visibility to the youth and makes steps towards using social to encourage communities through workshops and global ambassadorship positions.

Selma Carlicia Kumaya (Miss Namibia)

An economist and real estate professional, Kumaya is a strong advocate for agricultural sustainability and mental health. Her foundation aims to promote self-sufficiency and food security by teaching communities to grow their food in backyard gardens, which she is inspired to support by setting up her venture capital firm.

Natasha Nyonyozi (Miss Uganda)

A model, accountant, and social entrepreneur, Natasha Nyonyozi has ambitions to become the Director of Inclusive Development and Financial Empowerment. Her Beauty with a Purpose Project was inspired by her younger brother and advocated for children on the autism spectrum and aimed to reshape public reception and awareness to promote healthy social access. Her award-winning project has been essential for providing access to essential resources for autistic individuals.

Faith Bwalya (Zambia)

Having secured a degree in clinical medicine, Faith Bwalya volunteers at a hospital and has dreams of being a motivational speaker, a doctor, and a farmer. Having founded The Voice of Faith Foundation, Bwalya’s initiative focuses on advocating for the improvement of children, youth, and disabled individuals in disregarded communities through education.

 Europe

Charlotte Grant (Miss England Runner-Up)

Milla Magee’s departure from the contest has positioned Charlotte Grant, the runner-up of Miss England 2024, to assume the position. Having dedicated her time to fundraising following last year’s contest, Grant has raised a substantial amount of money for cancer patients and advocated for awareness regarding men’s testicular cancer. Despite having missed several rounds of the contest, she is eager to rise to the challenge.
