Microsoft introduces ‘command center’ for enterprise supply chain

(Commonwealth Union)_ Supply chain disruptions are no longer a new phenomenon, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. However, its complexity and velocity of change are beginning to exceed enterprises’ abilities to solve global concerns. Many current solutions are exclusively focused on supply chain execution and management and are unprepared to accommodate this new reality. Petabytes of data are dispersed among old systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) packages, and custom solutions, resulting in a fragmented view of the supply chain.

The agility and resilience of an organization’s supply chain will be decided by their ability to link data and orchestrate operations across all relevant systems in order to respond swiftly to changing market conditions. To be genuinely agile, supply chain software must improve visibility across data sources, foresee and reduce disruption, streamline communication, and fulfil orders – all while being sustainable and safe.

By integrating the best of Microsoft AI, collaboration, minimal code, security, and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications to a scalable platform, the Microsoft Supply Chain Platform enables organisations to maximise their existing supply chain investments through an open approach. The new Microsoft Supply Chain Platform includes the Microsoft Supply Chain Center. Customers may get started quickly with the Supply Chain Center since it provides a ready-made “command centre” which interfaces natively with existing supply chain data and applications.

Microsoft provides a wide range of capabilities throughout to enable companies like Grupo Bimbo, Mercedes-Benz and Tillamook to create their own specialised supply chain solutions, making it easier for clients to use the whole Microsoft Cloud to improve their supply chain with the new advancements. The Microsoft Supply Chain Platform provides building blocks for clients to deploy features that solve their specific supply chain needs across Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Teams, and the Power Platform. Customers can leverage Dataverse’s hundreds of data interfaces to obtain visibility and act across their supply chain. Custom workflows, data reporting, and apps that interface to current Supply Chain systems are also possible with the Power Platform.
