Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ Minor Hotels has recently expanded its presence in Sri Lanka by introducing the NH Collection Hotels & Resorts and NH Hotels & Resorts brands, adding two new properties to its portfolio. This development follows an agreement with Softlogic Holdings, the owner of the newly launched properties.

The NH Collection Colombo Hotel, a luxurious five-star establishment, opened its doors this month in the bustling capital of Colombo. Meanwhile, the NH Bentota Ceysands Resort is scheduled to welcome guests starting from July 1. These additions will complement Minor Hotels’ existing three hotels in the country, further strengthening their foothold in the Sri Lankan hospitality market.

Ashok Pathirage, Chairman of Softlogic Holdings, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We are delighted to collaborate with Minor Hotels to manage our property in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Minor Hotels has a proven track record of successful management and is renowned for its exceptional hospitality standards. We at Softlogic Holdings are excited to be a part of NH Collection and NH’s debut in Sri Lanka and look forward to an outstanding partnership with Minor Hotels in the future,” he stated.

The NH Collection Colombo Hotel features 219 elegantly designed rooms and suites, ranging from 33m² to a spacious 254m². Notably, it boasts what is reputed to be the city’s largest Presidential Suite. Guests can enjoy a diverse culinary experience with six food and beverage outlets, including a rooftop bar and a café and lounge in the lobby. For events and meetings, the hotel offers two banquet facilities, five meeting rooms, and a boardroom, capable of accommodating up to 200 guests. Wellness amenities include a fully equipped gym, a rooftop infinity pool, and a spa.

Set between the Bentota River and the Indian Ocean, the NH Bentota Ceysands Resort offers 166 rooms and suites, with sizes ranging from 37m² to 139m². The resort will provide guests with five dining options, including restaurants and bars. Additional facilities include a swimming pool, a water sports centre, a spa, and a kid’s club, ensuring a comprehensive and luxurious experience for all visitors.

Minor Hotels’ extensive portfolio now includes over 90 NH Collection properties and 230 NH hotels and resorts worldwide. This announcement follows closely on the heels of the debut of Minor Hotels’ upscale lifestyle brand, Avani Hotels & Resorts, in the Netherlands, highlighting the company’s rapid global expansion.

The introduction of these two new properties in Sri Lanka marks a significant milestone for Minor Hotels, promising enhanced hospitality experiences and reinforcing their commitment to growth and excellence in the global hotel industry.
