Chennai (CWBN)_ Sri Lankan Cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran’s biopic is all set to start with Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead role. There have been reports about Muthiah Muralidaran’s biopic since last year, but no official conformation was made. Recently, the production company Movie Train Motion Pictures confirmed this report sharing a motion picture of this biopic.
Sri Lankan spin legend’s biopic has joined the line of latest Bollywood biopics of Saina Nehwal, P. V Sindhu and Kapil Dev. It was said that the movie will be done in Tamil and will be released in several languages across the world.
This sports-drama will be directed by M. S Sripathy and will be jointly produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Dar Motion Pictures.
It was confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing Muthiah Muralidaran’s role in the biopic. The story covers the life and struggles of the Sri Lankan cricketing legend Muthiah Muralidaran. There were rumors around the media that the movie was titled 800. But there was no official information still and the team refrained from unveiling other information.
When asked Vijay Sethupathi his opinion on taking on the lead role, he said he is happy to be associated with the biopic of a great cricketer who has set his mark across the world. He added that it is a challenge that he is looking forward and quite excited about working closely with Muthiah Muralidaran and team. He thanked the director and the crew for the faith bestowed on him.
Muthiah Muralidaran on his biopic said that he has been actively participating in the project in the past months and that he is really honored that an accomplished actor like Vijay Sethupathi is playing his role. He said that the movie is all set to be released by late 2020.
The cast and crew of Muthiah Muralidaran’s biopic will be announced in the coming days and the exciting news is that Vijay Sethupathi will be taking cricketing lessons from the real hero Muthiah Muralidaran.
The official poster released by the Movie Train Motion Pictures shows the photo of a cricketer’s bowling actions. It is expected that the makers will soon make announcements on future updates of this biopic.
