NABTEB urges improved education system

AFRICA (Commonwealth Union) – It seems that education and the elevation of education is what is on everyone’s mind these days and one cannot find fault with that. A country’s education system should be rock solid. It is the foundation of the future that the youth can dream of and the reason the dreams of the youth come true.

However, sometimes all this is far easier said than done. The improving of an education system does not come easy. Nevertheless, as long as people in power fight for it, something good can come out of it. It is here we see the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) professor Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe come in to champion the cause.

The professor has been very cut and dry about the education system of the country. She claims that there needs to be massive improvements if there is be a better system for the youth. The city of Benin already has financial struggles and it relies on the youth to get a good education so that the country can grow with the younger generations.

The professor claimed that long gone are the days where one can walk into a job and hope to become an apprentice. While apprenticeships are still very much a possibility, if you wanted to join a blue-chip company then you need a good foundation of higher education. This cannot happen if those opportunities do not exist. The youth of the country deserve better than that and the professor is out here fighting the good fight for the children and young adults who will benefit from this.

She wants to have a development drive where if private industries and the private sector wanted to come in and see how they could help the public schooling system they could do that. She claimed that the government has enough on their plate but this is not an excuse them from not worrying about the education system.
