National Film Awards: Sushant Singh Rajput’s Chhichhore awarded the best Hindi film

Mumbai, India (CU)_ On Monday, following the announcement of the National Film Awards for the best films of 2019, Twitter was flooded with bitter and heartfelt messages. Best Hindi Film award was grabbed by Chhichhore, which starred the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The fans of Sushant Singh Rajput showed their cheers and support on social media, with #Chhichhore trending heavily in Twitter. Famous dialogues from the award-winning movie, photos and collages honoring the late actor who played the lead role, and other comments and cheerful notes are used by the fans to show their love for the actor. 

A Twitter user openly expressed his mixed emotions about the film’s victory and the absence of Sushant Singh Rajput on the special day. He wrote, “Your film got national award but you are not with us.” As a tribute to the late actor, a fan shared a picture of his character Anniruddh Pathak in the movie and wrote: “Anniruddh Pathak is a gem.” Quoting a line from the National Award-winning film, another Sushant Singh Rajput fan wrote, “This dialogue of him, God it just keeps on lingering”. The fan noted the following dialogue from the movie, “No matter how your family is… You don’t leave them right?”. 

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. Sushant’s debut movie was 2013 film Kai Po Che!, following his popular role as the lead in the show Pavitra Rishta. Kedarnath, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Raabta, and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy are some of his notable movies. Sushant Singh Rajput is best known for his role in Dil Bechara, a Hindi remake of The Fault in Our Stars.

The following are the names winners of the National Film Awards: Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for her roles in Manikarnika and Panga. Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush shared the National Award for Best Actor for their roles in Bhonsle and Asuran, respectively. Best Supporting Actor went to Vijay Sethupathi for Super Deluxe, and Best Supporting Actress went to Pallavi Joshi for The Tashkent Files.
