NBA enrols 1000 members on GIFSHIP group health insurance policy

Abuja, Nigeria (CU)_ The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the Nigerian Bar Association have signed a formal deal to register 1000 members in the GIFSHIP group health insurance policy, which is Group, Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme. GIFSHIP is a health insurance for groups, people, and families who are not covered by other NHIS coverage platforms.

Small businesses with fewer than ten employees, non-cohesive groups of people such as associations, unions, and institutions outside the Organised Private Sector (OPS), self-employed individuals, families and groups, retirees and retiree associations, Diaspora groups, and foreigners living in Nigeria are all eligible for the membership. During the inaugural engagement with NHIS, the NBA gave a cheque for N15 million to the NHIS Executive Secretary, Prof. Mohammed Sambo, at the scheme’s head office in Abuja to officially enrol 1000 members on the health insurance plan.
