Mumbai, India (CU)_ Neetu Chandra, a well-known actress who is popular for her performance in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Mithila Makhaan, frankly shared her experience in a situation where a businessman requested her to be his salaried wife. In a recent media interview, the actress said that despite having worked with thirteen National Award winners, she has no films now and feels unloved in the industry. She also spoke about an audition where she was rejected within an hour by a prominent Bollywood casting director.
According to the media, Neetu Chandra was quoted as saying, “Meri story ek successful actress ki failure story hai (My story is a failure story of a successful actor). Having worked with 13 National award winners and in such big films, today I am nowhere. I was told by a big businessman that he will give me 25 lakhs per month and that I have to become his salaried wife”.
Neetu shared her experience about one of her audition events. She said, “Ek casting director, kaafi bada naam hai but main naam nahi bolna chahti, audition ke time pe hi matlab, ek ghante ke andar usne bola.. I am really sorry Nitu, this is not working out. So you literally audition me, to reject me taaki meri confidence toot jaye. (A casting director, who is quite famous but I don’t want to take the name, rejected me an hour after the audition. I mean he called me for the audition only to reject me so that my confidence breaks?)”.
Neetu Chandra’s Bollywood debut was the 2005 movie Garam Masala, alongside Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. Her filmography includes popular films such as Traffic Signal, 13B, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Rann, and others. The actress runs her own production company Champaran Talkies and has produced two movies, Deswa and Mithila Makhaan, under the banner. Her films Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Mithila Makhaan bagged National Awards. The stunning actress also debuted in Hollywood with the 2021 film Never Back Down: Revolt.
