The scanner allows imaging of the radioactive distribution of activity in the body representing the body’s metabolism and function.”
As more patients are required to be scanned many times to determine response to therapy, the need for such scanning is growing. The equipment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is the first of its kind in Scotland, and one of just a few IQ SPECT CTs now in use in the UK.
