Nigerian woman invents a smart bra for early detection of breast cancer

-

Abuja, Nigeria (CU)_ Bolarinwa Kemisola, a Nigerian woman, has developed a safe and simple-to-use smart bra to diagnose breast cancer in its early stages. The smart bra is believed to be risk-free due to its nanotechnology-based minuscule sensors that do not hurt the body or the skin. Using the bra, ladies no longer need to visit the hospital for a mammogram but may do one in the comfort of their own home in less than five minutes.

Breast cancer research is expected to receive a significant boost with the novel and first-of-its-kind innovation by the Nigerian lady. Bolarinwa Kemisola is a robotics and embedded systems engineer. She has developed a smart bra that detects breast cancer in its early stages. According to the clever lady, she was motivated to create such an innovative product following her aunt’s demise in 2017 due to breast cancer.

Bolarinwa Kemisola performed a test run on a prototype of the smart bra in 2021. Additionally, the bra features nanotechnology-based minuscule sensors that are gentle on the body’s tissues. She clarified that it is not a substitute for a normal bra or an undergarment worn throughout the day. According to her, it should be worn during the five-minute breast cancer screening.

The smart woman’s innovative product garnered huge attention among the Nigerians. Fumyin Futsi said, “Good job, I pray the end product will be successful and affordable so that every woman will be able to buy and use it.” Massekwor Abayateye said, “Good work God continues to give you more wisdom to save more women in the coming years ahead. But how do I get this if I’m interested in getting one.”
