North Korea fires two suspected ballistic missiles into sea

Japan has a suspicion that North Korea has launched at the very minimum two projectile missiles earlier this week, which is the first of its kind to be launched since President Joe Biden took office in January.

The issue here would be that the missiles that were launched by North Korea are banned under the Unite Nations Security Council Resolution. If by any means these suspicions are at some point confirmed to be true then this would represent a new challenge to President Biden’s efforts to engage with Pyongyang which have so far been turned down.

The joint chiefs of staff in South Korea made reports of at least two unidentified projectiles were launched into the ocean from North Korea’s South Hamgyong province. Nothing is to be confirmed by either party till South Korean and US intelligence has finished analyzing the data of the launch for more accurate and additional information.

The presidential house of South Korea will have an emergency meeting of the national Security Council to discuss the launch. The US officials in the meantime have confirmed that North Korea has carried out a new projectile launch but has not offered further information. The Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said the projectiles were two ballistic missiles, which fell outside the Japanese exclusive economic zone.

North Korea has fire two short – range cruise missiles earlier in the week but President Biden down played the situation as business as usual and did not make a noise about it. This is because of the line of communication he has been trying to open with Pyongyang. Biden does not want these test launches to in anyway ruin the diplomatic efforts with Pyongyang.

Biden’s diplomatic  olive branches to North Korea have gone unanswered thus far and Pyongyang has made it very clear that they are not ready to come to a table talk with the Unites States until Washington drops its hostile policies which will include the end of military drill trainings with South Korea.
