Kejriwal’s tweet highlighted the country’s tough recovery from the COVID-19 outbreak. Kejriwal tweeted, “I urge Hon’ble PM to stop flights from those countries which are affected by the new variant. With great difficulty, our country has recovered from Corona. We should do everything possible to prevent this new variant from entering India”.

Modi was told on Saturday about the latest coronavirus strain known as Omicron, and he directed authorities to reconsider plans to relax foreign travel restrictions in light of the emerging new strain. The new strain of COVID-19, which is suspected to include an unusually high number of spike mutations, has been found in South Africa, with officials there reporting 22 positive cases on Thursday.
