This partnership was initially initiated during the Conference for Young Parliamentarians in Abuja.

In his welcome address, Egbedun expressed his conviction that YIAGA is a valuable partner for the Assembly, particularly in terms of technical support for its legislative agenda. He highlighted the desire to collaborate on capacity building for members and legislative innovations that align with the Assembly’s goals for the state’s development.

The visiting lawmakers, including Hon. Abiola Awoyeye, Hon. Olumide Fatunmise, Hon. Elisha Oderinwale, and Hon. Abolarin Kashope, praised YIAGA’s Convergence 5.0 Conference for young parliamentarians, emphasizing its role in promoting good governance and youth excellence in governance. The Majority Leader, Hon. Kofoworola Adewunmi Babajide, commended YIAGA’s initiatives and suggested incorporating individuals above the age of forty in their programs to promote continuous learning and development.

In response, Dr. Sam Oguche from YIAGA commended the Assembly’s efforts and highlighted the potential of the 8th Osun State House of Assembly, which comprises a significant number of members under forty. YIAGA expressed readiness to collaborate on capacity building, innovations in bill drafting, and other means to positively impact the people and the state’s development.

Mrs. Kemi Bakare, a representative of YIAGA, emphasized that the collaboration between YIAGA and the Osun State House of Assembly would contribute to the state’s development and benefit the people. She stated that this effort would be funded by the EU, underscoring the commitment to making the partnership successful for the betterment of the community.
