Pakistan Pavilion opened at the London World Tourism Market!

London (Commonwealth Union)_ Awn Chaudhry, the Pakistani Prime Minister’s advisor on tourism and sports, opened the Pakistan Pavilion at the 2022 World Travel Market in London. The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and provincial tourism agencies, as well as commercial sector players, together launched a spectacular pavilion at the World’s Largest Travel Show, which is being held in Excel London, United Kingdom, from November 7 to 9, 2022, following a long gap of around 14 years.

It is essential to promote Pakistan as a leading tourist destination on a global scale, as the country is endowed with spectacular natural beauty, a rich culture, tradition, and history, and a wide variety of landscapes that provide an extraordinary tourism potential. While addressing the inaugural ceremony, Awn Chaudhry said: “Our government is making all-out efforts to develop and promote tourism in Pakistan which is instrumental for economic growth and employment generation and to bring all the touristic features of Pakistan into the limelight.”

According to him, PTDC has decided to spearhead this time by inviting all the provincial tourism agencies and commercial sector players to collaborate and establish a joint Pakistan Pavilion in order to make a significant impact at the largest international travel shows such as WTM, ITB, the Travel and Adventure Show in New York, and ATM in Dubai. The PTDC has also appointed a 39-member high-level delegation headed by Chaudhry. Taking part in the London World Travel Market will give Pakistan a fantastic opportunity to display its rich tourism potential on this global stage as well as assist in creating B2B and G2B connections with the tourism industry’s leading companies.

The high-level delegation includes the following ministers and higher officials: Mr Abdul Khaliq, Tourism Minister for Balochistan; Raja Nasir Ali, Tourism Minister for Gilgit Baltistan; Mr Faheem Akhtar, Minister for Tourism, Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK); CEOs and MDs of eight private tour operation and hotel management companies, as well as senior authorities from PTDC, AJK, GB, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab tourism agencies.
