Pakistani professor honoured with Muslim World Science Award

Additionally, Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry currently serves at the Karachi University as the Director of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS). He is a popular medical chemist with over 1,175 research papers that have been published in international journals in the disciplines of organic and bio-organic chemistry. He has authored 76 books and contributed 40 chapters to books published by leading American and European publishers. Additionally, he has been granted 40 US patents.

Dr Iqbal is a graduate in DSc, PhD, and CChem degrees and has been honoured with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz awards by the Pakistani government. Dr Iqbal’s work has been referenced 27,407 times by researchers worldwide, and his h-index is 70. So far, he has supervised 94 local and foreign academics in the completion of their PhD degrees.

In their concerned fields of study, five scientists from Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Lebanon, and Morocco have received the 2021 Mustafa Prize. In 2004, the Higher Education Commission bestowed him with the honourable title of distinguished national professor, while the University of Karachi honoured him with the title of meritorious professor in 2013.
