Global (Commonwealth) _ About two million tickets have been sold for the Paris Paralympics, according to the announcement made by the organizers of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC)  on Tuesday.

About two million tickets have already been sold, so that’s encouraging. “All stadiums will be packed,” International Paralympic Committee (IPC) president Andrew Parsons and Paris 2024 president Tony Estanguet declared during a news conference.

After an opening ceremony in central Paris on Wednesday, the Paralympics will begin, with 500,000 tickets still unsold. Taekwondo, track cycling, shooting, blind football, triathlons, and equestrian competitions are the top-selling sports.

More tickets went on sale on Monday for the most popular activities, which will be held in locations like the Grand Palais (which was a huge success when it hosted taekwondo and fencing during the Olympics) and the grounds of the Palace of Versailles.

Since the Olympics, many of these locations have undergone modifications to improve their accessibility for those with limited mobility. When it comes to Paralympic sports, Parsons stated that “sometimes the spectators’ initial response is surprise… then this connection starts between what they see on the field of play (and them).”

The organizers are optimistic about filling more seats. “I am aware that tickets will be sold throughout the activities and all the way to the finish, similar to the Olympics,” Estangue remarked.

More than two million tickets for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games have already been sold with just one day till the Opening Ceremony. Since the Olympic Games began, more than 700,000 tickets have been bought, and many sessions’ supply is almost completely sold out.

The Paralympic Games of Paris 2024 are scheduled for August 28 (today) until September 8, 2024. There will be about 4,400 competitors at the inaugural summer Paralympics in France. Viewers will be able to feel the thrill and excitement of competing against international Paralympic stars in the same legendary locations that hosted the Olympic Games just over a month ago.

key features  on Paralympic ticket sales:

• Tickets bought  from 144 countries

• The top 5 non-French nations are the United States (10%), Belgium (7%), the Netherlands (5%), Germany (14%), and the United Kingdom (27%).

• 92% of French purchasers

Tickets almost completely sold out

There’s a danger that some of the most popular sports’ tickets will sell out. The games are:

• Grand Palais Wheelchair Fencing

• Grand Palais Taekwondo Para

• Para Track Cycling (National St. Quentin Velodrome in Yvelines)

• Château de Versailles (Para Equestrian)

• Blind Football at the Stadium of the Eiffel Tower

Nearly 500,000 tickets have already been acquired for Para Athletics, which is another really good ticket sale. Sales are expected to surpass those of the World Athletics Championships, which took place at the Stade de France in 2003 and saw 530,000 tickets sold.
