HOLLYWOOD, USA (CWBN)_  “Oh. peanut butter the hamster died,” Chrissy Teigan tweeted on Tuesday as means of announcing the death of her pet hamster. “But do not fret,” she added in another tweet, showing a video of a Christmas stocking which had the name “New P Butter” written on it. “That is the name. don’t attack me!” was her concluding remark on the thread.

It appears that the name of the new hamster Teigan and John Legend’s kids Luna, 4, and Miles Stephens, 2 own is also called Peanut Butter. It appears that Teigan is not too heartbroken about the incident. “It hurts like it happened today but it happened uhhhh not today, I dunno I forget lmao,” she tweeted, but the tweet has since been removed.

Teigan earlier revealed that Legend was not a fan of their new pet. “Luna and I bought a hamster today. Her name is peanut butter. John is not thrilled, which makes me love her more,” she said soon after they bought the hamster in 2019.

Teigan’s tweets about the hamster were not all welcomed. Animal rights activists pointed out that the hamster’s cage was extremely small, leading her to take action to rectify the situation in a way she felt was appropriate. “I just bought her a two-story glass condo with a hammock so please stop yelling at me,” she tweeted in response to the criticism. The tone of Teigan’s tweet indicates that she realizes that animal rights activists would point out that there are still issues in hamster ownership such as loneliness and anxiety.

According to Teigan, Luna is dealing with the death of her pet quite well. “She is okay. we are very open about life and death in the house and it was all good teachable moments, especially since she still asks about baby and stuff <3,” Teigan tweeted in response to a question about how Luna was taking the death.
