PepsiCo to establish four manufacturing sites in UP!

Mumbai, India (CU)_ In the districts of Gorakhpur, Amethi, Prayagraj, and Chittaot, the government of Uttar Pradesh, through its investment promotion agency Invest UP, has been successful in luring beverage manufacturing facilities. Varun Beverages Ltd, the PepsiCo franchise for India, has been awarded land in these areas on a fast-track basis for the establishment of their units making carbonated soft drinks, fruit pulp, and juice-based beverages.

The business plans to invest a total of INR 3,740 crore across all four units, creating an estimated 5,650 jobs. According to Abhishek Prakash, Chief Executive Officer, Invest UP, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and guidance of industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, policy of fast-track land allotment and promotion of mega projects in the state are proving to be significant enablers in attracting investment in the state.”

Prathamesh Kumar, additional Chief Executive Officer, stated that Varun Beverages Ltd. has been given 45 acres of land in Narkatha village, Gorakhpur, on a fast-track basis. The business intends to invest INR 1071.28 crores in this region, creating around 1,500 jobs. In Bargarh Industrial Area in Chitrakoot, 68.6 acres of land has been allotted, and Varun Beverages Ltd plans to invest nearly INR 496.57 crore creating 1,000 jobs.

Approximately 24.7 acres of land has been given in Saraswati Hi-Tech City, Naini-Prayagraj, and the investor has planned to invest INR 1,052.57 crore and create 1,500 jobs. Meanwhile, in Trishundi Industrial Area-Amethi, 26.1 acre land has been given, and an investment of INR 1,119.59 crore will be made creating 1,650 jobs.
