London, UK (CWBN)_ PM Boris Johnson has been placed under self-isolation after it was discovered that MP Lee Anderson, with whom Johnson had a meeting on Thursday (12th Nov) had tested positive for the virus, yesterday (15th Nov).

Four other conservative MPs have also been forced into self-isolation, including Katherine Fletcher, Andy Carter, Lia Nici and Clarke Smith.

The news arrives at a critical juncture in British politics where a relaunch of government policy was expected this week, given the alarms raised over a “no-deal Brexit”, escalating economic crisis, the rapid spread of the virus resulting in the highest number of deaths in Europe, and the resignation of two of the PM’s closest aides, Lee Cain and Dominic Cummings.

The situation is particularly concerning when considering the fact that the PM tested positive and was admitted to the ICU just a few months ago.
