Islamabad, Pakistan (CWBN)_ Prime Minister Imran Khan took to Twitter yesterday (20th Dec) to levy accusations against India for carrying out “false flag” attacks on Pakistani territory.

“I am making absolutely clear to the [international] community that if India was to be reckless enough to conduct a false flag operation against Pakistan, it would confront a strong national Pakistani resolve and be given a befitting response at all levels of the threat. Make no mistake.” he said.

The accusation follows reports of a United Nations vehicle carrying two military observers was damaged by an “unidentified object”, according to the organisation. Investigations in this regard are currently being carried out.

Although India did not respond to Khan’s comments on Twitter, it rejected the accusations that Indian military personnel had targeted the UN vehicle, about three days ago.

Khan also added that “Already, in 2020 alone, there have been 3,000 Indian ceasefire violations along the LoC (Line of Control) & Working Boundary, by unprovoked firing deliberately targeting civilians — resulting in 276 casualties, of which 92 were women & 68 children.”

Moreover, in a letter addressed to UN Secretary General, António Guterres, and the President of the UN Security Council, Pakistan claimed that the targeting of UN vehicles was a clear indication that India is attempting to interfere with the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP).

It also claimed that Pakistani authorities have discovered credible evidence that India is attempting to carry out “false flag” attacks against Pakistan, and added that “If that were to happen, Pakistan will exercise its right to self-defence.”
