Responding to a query, McCormick lauded Modi’s forward-thinking approach towards economic development, emphasizing his commitment to fostering goodwill and prosperity for all citizens, including the Indian diaspora worldwide. He expressed optimism about the positive influence Modi’s leadership would wield on global economic dynamics and international relations. While acknowledging certain protectionist elements within India’s economic policies, McCormick stressed the significance of fostering trust and collaboration among nations, particularly in initiatives related to technology sharing. Drawing a comparison with China, he highlighted India’s adherence to democratic principles and its strategic alignment with the United States.

As a member of both the House Committee on Armed Services and the House Foreign Affairs Committee, representing Georgia’s 6th Congressional district with a notable Indian American population, McCormick emphasized the imperative of nurturing genuine trust and cooperation between the United States and India. He also underscored the mutually advantageous nature of their strategic alliance. In view of the changing geopolitical landscape, McCormick underscored the critical importance of sustained collaboration between the United States and India in addressing shared challenges and advancing mutual interests on the global platform. McCormick’s endorsement, amidst the impending Lok Sabha elections, emphasizes the global reputation of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership prowess and underscores the strategic significance of India-US relations in shaping global affairs.

McCormick concluded by emphasizing the necessity of cultivating a relationship based on genuine trust between the United States and India. He also emphasized the integrity of India’s intentions, reassuring that India seeks to share rather than appropriate technologies. Encouraging an open and transparent dialogue, McCormick expressed optimism for a fruitful partnership between the two nations in the future. He stated, “We need to make sure that we develop that relationship where there’s true trust that we continue to realize that India is honest. They’re not trying to steal our technologies; they’re trying to share them. It’s okay to use your economic leverage to do that, and as long as we’re having an honest conversation, we can have a great conversation in the future”.
