CASTRIES, SAINT LUCIA (CU)_ The Official Release of CXC Results for the May/June 2022 sitting was held on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the Vladimir Lucien Theatre in Gros-Islet, and Saint Lucia was honored to host it. Stakeholders and regional partners watched the live stream.

Dr. Wayne Wesley, Registrar and CEO of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), and Dr. Nicole Manning, Director of Operations, were present.

In his keynote speech, Minister of Education Shawn Edward thanked Saint Lucia for hosting such a significant event and praised CXC for their fortitude in coordinating the smooth deployment of the regional tests despite the COVID-19 Pandemic’s disruptions.

Dr. Manning’s talk highlighted the successes and drawbacks of this year’s roll out while providing a regional outlook for the exams, which include CAPE, CSEC, CPEA, and CVQ.

Dr. Wayne Wesley made a few brief remarks during which he emphasized the council’s commitment to keeping the regional educational evaluation system at a high standard while addressing global trends and problems in education.

Regarding issues of grooming in schools on the island, the Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology, and Vocational Training is aware of circumstances at several schools that have provoked public controversy.

In order to handle the current difficulties holistically, the Ministry wants to reassure the general public that it is still dedicated to examining the existing positions.

As a result, the Ministry is dedicated to making sure that all pertinent parties are fully involved in an evaluation of this sort in order to determine the appropriate course of action.

The Transportation Subsidy Programme has received an update from Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology, and Vocational Training, which has also requested parents and guardians of children enrolled in the program for their input. On Monday, September 5, 2022, the same buses from the previous school year will be used to resume the services.
