Samsung Galaxy S23 speculations so far

(Commonwealth Union)_ Given how successfully Samsung’s recent flagship phones fared, the Samsung Galaxy S23 will have some large shoes to fill when it launches next year. However, we believe Samsung is up to the task as it prepares to deliver the next major phone.

Among the most recent revisions to the Galaxy S range, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus felt more incremental than revolutionary — but the Galaxy S22 Ultra had no such issue, resurrecting the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy S23 rumour mill is in full gear, so we wanted to highlight what’s out there as well as what we’d like to see from the next Samsung flagship. Here is everything you need to know about the Galaxy S23 before it arrives.

While we wait for the next Samsung model, compare the Galaxy S23 to the iPhone 14 preview to see how Samsung may differentiate itself with its upcoming flagship. Also, check out our Samsung coupon codes for discounts on current Samsung products.

The Galaxy S22 was released in February, so we may expect the Galaxy S23 to follow suit. The Galaxy S21 series was released in January 2021, however Samsung needed to create room for the Galaxy S21 FE, therefore the S22’s release date was likely pushed back. Of course, no Galaxy S22 FE is likely in the works at Samsung, thus the S23 rollout plans may be unaffected.

If you want proof that the Galaxy S23 Plus will be released in February 2023, a battery for a phone matching the description appeared for certification with a South Korean agency in early September. The date corresponds to the S22 deployment, implying that a February 2023 launch is on track. While one rumour has stated that the S23 will be released in mid-January, we are surer than ever that it will be released in February after a report from Korea Joongang Daily quotes Samsung sources who claim that an unpacked event is planned for early February.

In terms of style, the Galaxy S23 series may be inspired by the Galaxy S22, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, in particular, looking quite similar to its predecessor. According to Ice Universe, the smartphone will measure 6.43 x 3.07 x 0.35 inches, which is a small increase above the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 6.42 x 3.06 x 0.35 inches. That’s despite rumours of a new camera on the way, which could result in a larger camera module and, as a result, a thicker overall phone.

Ice Universe has taken a deeper look since the first report and believes that the reason the phone is getting larger is that Samsung may be increasing the bezel thickness of the Galaxy S23. We do not know why the bezel thickness may possibly rise — it could be an effort to boost durability — so that is something to keep an eye on as the phone approaches release.
