Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was critically injured after being attacked with a knife at his Bandra residence late last night. The actor, 54, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in a critical condition, suffering from multiple stab wounds. According to his team, the attack occurred during an attempted burglary, when an intruder entered the property with the intent of theft. Saif Ali Khan was reportedly stabbed six times, with one wound near his spine. Despite the severity of his injuries, Khan’s elder son, 23-year-old actor Ibrahim Ali Khan, demonstrated quick thinking and rushed his father to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw.

Ibrahim, unable to locate a car in time, decided to transport his father to Lilavati Hospital, located around two kilometers from their home. A video taken shortly after the attack shows Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, alongside the auto-rickshaw, speaking to the household staff, visibly shaken by the incident. Following the attack, Khan was immediately taken into surgery. His medical team, led by renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, confirmed that Saif was out of danger after the operation. The hospital also issued a statement requesting the media and fans to remain patient as the situation unfolds and the police investigation continues.

Mumbai Police have initiated an investigation into the matter, identifying the intruder as the attacker. Surveillance footage from CCTV cameras at the Khan residence shows no sign of the attacker entering the premises within the two hours leading up to the assault, suggesting that the individual may have been hiding inside the house, waiting for the right moment to strike. Police are currently reviewing the footage to identify and catch the suspect. The police have confirmed the connection between the attack and a possible burglary attempt. However, the robber’s motive remains undisclosed at this time. The intruder fled the scene after the attack, leaving behind only the distressing evidence of the violent assault. The police are questioning the household staff and have detained three individuals in connection with the crime.

In a statement issued by Saif Ali Khan’s publicist, the actor’s team confirmed the attempted burglary and assured fans that Khan was receiving the best medical care. “Saif Ali Khan is currently in the hospital undergoing surgery.
